Taryn Lee Johnston
Taryn Lee Johnston is a publisher, author, business consultant, multi-entrepreneur and former Senior Lecturer with over 30 years’ experience in industry and education. She’s taught thousands of students, built and led university programmes in digital marketing, and worked with global brands and start-ups alike to turn chaos into clarity.
After spending years inside higher education watching students struggle – not because they weren’t smart, but because no one told them how university really works – she wrote Don’t Be ‘That Student’ to say what most lecturers won’t: the blunt, practical truth about how to survive uni, manage your time, avoid self-sabotage, and get the degree without burning out.
Taryn has returned to her publishing and ghostwriting business, helping authors, thought leaders and business owners turn ideas into published books. She is also co-founder of Novo Books, a multi-reality publishing platform at the intersection of storytelling, technology and AI.
When she’s not working, you’ll find her wrangling two German Shepherds, ignoring olives, avoiding smoked cheese, and keeping a close eye on anything (or anyone) that tries to waste her time.
